Default ::A Dubspot Lab Report: Mixed in Key VS Beatport - Key Detection & Harmonic Mixing::

    Hey What's Up Guys,

So as many of you have already discovered, the new Beatport now gives you a key reading of all tracks in relation to the Camelot Wheel system. Because Harmonic mixing has become such a commonly used system nowadays by us DJ's, I wanted to put Beatport's accuracy to the test. Here is an article I've done on my findings after comparing Mixed in Key's, key results to Beatports.

    Enjoy!

    Interesting reading, thanks.

I wonder if Beatport use MIK4 to key their tunes up? Woulda been interesting to see this on there to convince me I need the upgrade.

I just got MiK 5 recently and very happy about it. It makes on the fly mixing easier for sure, just did on the fly straight 5 hours last friday. It went soo smooth.

Damn, have to buy the whole damn program again?

So the question becomes is it really that worth it to update?

Endo, any chance you could share your results of 4s accuracy vs 5/beat port as well?

Exactly, the upgrade is $30. Not enough to put me off completely, but not a buy on sight. I need some hard evidence its worth the $30. The only thing im interested in is the key detection. Really not fussed about all the other stuff theyve put in.

$30? thats not too bad. deff still more than i was expecting. but i mean, i do use MIK on a very regular basis, so its not like i wont get my moneys worth.

i still want proof tho. to make me feel better about not going to the bar this weekend to pay for an upgrade. :P
