    Default wedding music

Ok so a friend of mine has asked me to DJ at his wedding and I couldn't be more excited. The age range is mostly 30-60 or maybe a little younger. The music I plan on playing is geared towards top 40 and dutch house. what music is recommended here? Any help on certain tracks would be great!

    Thanks

weddings are about the Bee Gee's, disco and the cheesiest music ever that everyone refuses to admit they love, but gets em dancing every time.

    +1

There may be an opportunity to play something bouncier at the end of the evening, but you really want to be hitting the Motown/Disco/Pop for the majority of the event.

Ask yourself - would a 60 year old have a good time at a party where high bpm Dutch House was being played?

Have you ever seen Raja Ram? He's 70 and still does the full PsyTrance festival circuit. Just sayin' ageism makes people look sort of uncool...and if you think a 60 year old dancing to high BPM Dutch House is uncool...you need new attitudes.

No, just no. I mean, you might be able to get away with some top 40, but as people get older they tend to stop being up with what's in the charts.

This is all very well and good, and the OP might even be able to find an over-60 at this wedding who knows what Dutch House is. But playing Dutch House to a load of over 60s on this basis is a terrible, terrible idea.

OP - you need to find out exactly what Bridezilla wants you to play, and play only that. There's a time to educate the audience in your exquisite taste in music, but a wedding isn't one of them.
