    Default Apple Logo Mod

Just saw a neat write-up about how you can install a small LCD screen and change up the Apple Logo on the back of the macbook.

Seriously, watch the video, it's pretty neat.

I just have a Maschine sticker that covers it and glows nicely, that's a lot of work.

But you Apple guys are always telling us Windoze users that they never go wrong, so you therefore have no need of the warranty!

Good God... Im the biggest Apple fanboy on the planet but I would NEVER say that "they never go wrong"...

They work straight out of the box, thats a plain fact. But, when they go wrong they go wrong big time.

Mention the words "logic board" to anyone whos had a number of Apple laptops and your likely to see someone go into cardiac arrest or stab you with the nearest sharp object.

As soon as the AppleCare has run out on my gig machine, I buy a new laptop.

You REALLY don't need a second computer for browsing, it's not that hard to keep a clean system. If you can't do that for whatever reason, then dual booting will still solve your problems.

Yeah im inclined to agree with padi. I use my gig laptop as my day to day laptop.
Im too bloody lazy to turn my back up on and its literally 2 feet away from me.
The screen has dimmed a bit so i prefer to use this.

Silly i know but, i am silly.

Oh and as for Logic Boards going tits-up in a Mac. It can happen at anytime, you dont need to use the bloody thing 24/7 like i do. I believe the failure rate is a lot less than it was with earlier models though.

My fiance use to work at an Apple resellers and i kid you not she had people crying on the phone when she had to tell them that their logic board needed replacing and that they had not renewed the Apple Care after the one year included had passed. Imagine spending £900 on a Macbook only to be given a £700 bill for a new logic board just over a year later.

Crying down the phone. Not nice.
