Default Question re the Xone 4D

I been wondering this for months, i want to be able to run my electric guitar via my xone 4d and mac, now i know i could just pick up an external sound card and do this, is there another way to run it via my xone 4d? i do have an external amp but i would prefer to run it via my main studio system..

any help on if this is possible, or if not on a decent enough soundcard which i can connect my guitar too would be lovely

i have used the m audio fast track pro in the past..

Just get a 1/4"-to-phono adapter and plug into the back of the mixer directly?

done that it sounds bloody awful, constant cut outs and delays, half the time you end up strumming with no sound, it's the very cheap and crap option

stuck a bid on a soundcard on ebay anyways.. see how that goes.

Use the mic input if you want to plug in direct that should do it.

I used to DJ with a live electric guitarist and it did the trick perfectly from both dry guitar signal (acoustic sounding spanish guitar) and Via his FX board for Metal Madness

Wanna feckin do that again, its bloody hard to find a guitarist who's both up for it and up TO it though.
