I'd get the S4 in case you plan to go for a Traktor Scratch Pro (DVS).

    Mostly 3 x1s and a launchpad.

What do you want to mix?
    2 x gemini PT 1000 . Gemini PS-525 . X1
NI Audio 6 . Traktor Scratch pro 2
    2007 Macbook Pro

Try an x1 but don't go and buy 3, that's highly unnecessary. In all honesty a single x1 with some simple mapping adjustments will take care of 90% of what you need.

    I would suggest:
    -MBP
    -Traktor Scratch Pro 2
    -Xone DB4
    -2 x Technic 1210s
    -2 x Xone K2

If you're looking to just get started with an actual controller you probably should look into a cheaper solution such as the Numark mixtrack plus a soundcard, or if you're looking for an integrated sound card check out the Numark mixtrack pro. I picked up the mixtrack recently and it is a solid piece of kit regardless of its plastic construction. The cheaper route gives you a taste of djing without dropping you knee deep in it with an S2 so if you decide its not your thing, you're only out $100-200. Good luck with whatever you choose
