they can try and pass any bill they want but its not gonna effect what people do and how we use the internet, technology is amazing and there will be will's and ways.

Its called China.
if you are referring to the use of vpn's etc, well.. I'm not sure if you've used one, but it certainly falls into my category of "affecting what I do and how I use the internet".
besides, this bill is talking about actually physically shutting down websites, amongst other things, and not just within america, but around the world. I don't know of any technology available that will get you onto a website that's been shut down.
Devils Advocate: (and please read carefully, read the nuance of the statement before having a pop)
The OP calls this thread "Urgent: To all Music Lovers"
How is it urgent to 'music lovers' per se. Does that not suggest you mean 'Urgent to all music lovers that use copyrighted music illegally'..?
Thread should be called "Urgent: To anybody that uses the interent" just to take the ambiguous sense that all you are only bothered about is the prevention of media piracy.
Looks pretty grim though to me. Interesting and i have posted it on my Facebook. To get some peer comments.
I also note, the commentator mentions that other countries may use the law to even worse consequences. Mmmm, not so sure about that.
Hey guys, nice to see some of you have jumped on this.
It is 100% true. NO rubbish. They will censor our internet. They've been talking about putting it into fluition for the last 3 yrs or more.
Any of you remember the talks about 'Net Neutrality' Well this is it.
Lets stop the powers to be from taking everything away from us.
They've already got the TV, Newspapers & anything Media owned.
The internet is our only porthole into the world that is uncensored & 60% user uploaded content.
Don't let them take it away from us.

Makes a lot of sense, I think. China is very soon gonna be the most important economic power around - so might as well start to adopt their methods now to get a head-start before the rest does

It doesn't matter how you get your music, it will royally screw everything up for people who purchase their music. Anyone could go out and claim there is an unauthorized sample in a track and have beatport held responsible. You can forget about soundcloud, mixcloud, youtube, djtechtools, blogs, forums, and hosting site, pretty much they would have the power to shut down anything where music gets posted with no due process. So it affects music lovers and anyone in general.
