Plug Mic in to deck D, make sure the switch is on line, turn up gain knob on back. Change deck D in software to live input. Turn up mic volume on front to the right of the headphone volume control. Turn switch on mic to on. Talk into mic.
Can't remember, but you may have to go into preferences to input routing and select the input for deck D. I know you have to for hooking up IPod, cd player, etc

you don't have to turn deck d into a live input.
go into settings>input routing
then at the bottom (aux)
set it to deck d.
and there ya go
...but if you do assign it as a Live Input deck you can use the EQ on the mic and use the channel fader for the mic volume.
Making deck D a live input enables you to use Fx on the mic also. So it just depends on how you want to use it.
The OP started another thread anyway. He really wanted to know about the S2 and a mic.

Thats true, but i use it so i can easily access the volume of the Mic cus i find the knobs to fiddly and at one of my student gigs i do a lot of shout outs.
Ive also mapped the Cue button on Channel D to Hi/Mid/Lo Kill (Global/Hold) which acts as a Mic Talk-Over button rather than lowering the volume fader on track thats playing.
Works a treat.

@ unclejessie
Thank you for your post, I've been struggling on figuring out how to use the mix without using deck D as the input. You have made my night! I thank you sir!!
