    firmware = software

    So some turntables and a mixer then. Oh hang on, they were around then anyway.
    ---
    So nothing probably. Knowing what was round the corner, I'd know that I wouldn't be bothering DJing with computers for at least 6-7 years.

    Firmware survives the time travel technicalities so you are good to go. Any device you bring back will just be restored to its factory default state.

    The knowledge of what was gonna happen would be the main thing to take back - you could stay ahead of the curve. But at the end of the day, if you planned to play out anywhere you'd be met with a standard club installation of turntables and a mixer.

    Well, talking semantically, in that case it wouldn't be too hard to burn a custom install of Linux and Mixx and a shitload of music files to an EPROM (or whatever it's modern day equivalent is), and call it 'firmware'.

    I'd print off all of wikipedia covering events and information from what will be the future and then sell it to the government in exchange for a go on their time machine so I can get home again. After I win the lottery and then use it to buy lessons from Andy C and other such people.

    I'd bring the highest spec computer with an ssd hard drive, an ipad and an iphone both filled with apps.

    I'd then sell it off for for mega millions, open a super club on a beach and enjoy rockin my mp3's that were on my iProducts for years to come.

    In addition, I'd take some of my millions and stop the 911 attacks by any means necessary.

    The best technology to sell you could think of was the ipad and iphone and the crappy apps? :P

    Lol yes! It's dj related and not only would I be uber wealthy but I'd also be the coolest kid on the block. In addition I only need a billion bucks, I'm not that greedy.
