    Just create another account on your system. That's how my laptop is set up. One account is for my DVS only and the other (though i never use) is for everyday computing.

    You can just create a new user account to do that. EDIT - Beaten by the post above, which I only just read.

    You've gotta be careful when looking at RAM use in Windows 7 though, because the seemingly high RAM use is not necessarily a bad thing. It makes more effective use of RAM than previous versions of Windows with SuperFetch, which a lot of people misunderstand: -
