Default Having issues with a fader.

I've been trying the last couple days to get an answer on a couple of the older posts about how to actually clean a fader.. no luck so far.

I know i have to use rubbing alcohol, but how do I clean the fader, do i swab the inside of the fader with rubbing alcohol or do i pour some directly into the fader?

    Thanks for your input

I've found that, in older mixers(not sure what you're using), cleaning the crossfader was only a temporary fix. The bleeding and cracking would come right back after about a week. I even used to hold my old fader under warm water in a bowl and click it back and forth. So much shit would come out. After it was dry, I would re-insert and be fine for another week. I don't think I would recommend that for newer ones. You can also try getting a new one. This site has alot of good stuff.

    Default Damn Fader.

Still working on trying to fix my volume fader with no luck.

I've tried cleaning it with a compressed air can.
I've tried swabbing it with rubbing alchohol.
I've tried dousing it in rubbing alchohol.
I've and I've tried earlier today I poured about two shots of rubbing alchohol repeatively for about 4 minutes.

Nothing worked has worked so far. I've tried switched the faders and the other faders work fine, so I'm assuming its just the fader.

Is this fader toast? or is there some secret remedy I'm not trying that might fix a buggy fader?

Evan, you don't need to make a new thread for every thought you've got.
