    Default Volume Meter in Traktor

    hey i want to make a volume meter for my DIY controller that show's the volume of each deck. i want to make it from led's.
    anyone have an idea how to build it or mapping it?

    building it , no, mapping it yes. You just use whatever you see fit (post or pre fader volume) and you divide then your range in chunks for the different leds/midi signals. I don't go into the exact details but basically that's how you do it.

    I tried it with a vci300 and the data is outputted as midi - it just caused lots of problems with transfer because of the constant stream of data, drop-outs with sound, etc....
    Although that was a couple of years ago, maybe it's different now..

    Perhaps an easier alternative if you're running windows is Mil0's midi2lcd vu meter.

    I've tried it with regular midi and it was horrible. There is just too much data coming in.
