The high line on the west side is a nice walk. It's an old raised rail line turned into a public park. Also, if you visit Ground Zero (really not much more than a construction site right now), go check out the weirdos down at occupy wall street and spend a little money at the businesses in the area. They could use it, as locals are avoiding the area like the plague now. If you find yourself in Queens, stop by Dani's House of Pizza, in Kew Gardens. BEST pizza in the city IMO, and I was born and raised in NY.
