Default Skrillex made a surprise appearance this morning & I witnessed him do the unthinkable

He actually DJed an entire set. Like with CDJs and real CDs. No laptop, trigger finger or ableton in sight.

I like hating on him as much as the next guy and we've seen the videos of his fake knob twisting and then when he had to cancel a show because his laptop died on multiple occasions. Maybe making the DJmag top100 he figured it would be a good idea to actually learn how to DJ traditionally. I didn't really enjoy an hour and a half of his stuff at least he's actually making an effort to learn more traditional medium. I'm not saying it's at all difficult or he deserves a medal or anything, at least he's doing it and doesn't feel above it like some people...

Skrillex beatmatching, who would have thought...

WTF @ the girl at the left on the 2nd picture:eek:

But good for him. Although beatmatching isn't really rocket science either...

I can't even process that sentence...

I don't know if thats a good thing or a bad thing..?
He's not "really a DJ" if he can beatmatch, hes a DJ if he DJ's, no matter what the medium. But, my traditional background makes me feel that he should learn to DJ manually.
Whats his motive..? Does it matter..? Maybe he always could DJ and he just chose not to..? Does anyone know for sure..?

I'm confused. I have mixed feelings that i cannot reconcile. I'm trying really hard not to care but once you have seen the dead cat at the side of the road you just can't help but look again.

What i am certain of is that im p*ssed that we have another bloody Skrillex thread.

Im just so tired of hearing about him, good or bad, positive or negative I just don't care.

Guess i should not have clicked on the thread.

Kinda looks like one of the girls when porter robinson and zedd DJd live on beatportal, maybe shes high up in somewhere

OT: Yeah hes DJing, but how hard is it really to play on 2k's? hes a producer so obviously knows song structures and how to count beats,

    match exact bpm's; check
spin jog wheel till track sounds good; check
    slam on a break
