Default opening for a national headliner

    tonight i saw:

2 djs playing on serato with timecode

2 djs playing on traktor with NO timecode and NO controller, seriously just mixing external but using the laptop to cue etc...

and guess how many people cared???/ NO ONE.

argument is over. really. if you can play good music in a way that keeps the crowd up, they DONT CARE HOW YOU PLAY IT.

hell, i was even the only one trainspotting the hell out of it watching dj handoffs and such...

digital guys... more power to you. go do it!!

(field report from san francisco. goodnight!)

Not to mention that you are wrong in a way.

I bet this angry thread is because of the "why so much hate on digital" thread few weeks ago.

So, with yesterday night experience you had, you state that
they DONT CARE HOW YOU PLAY IT
I believe you used caps as an opposition to people (including me), assuming over gear when someone shows up.

And in your sentence, THEY = CROWD
You are right, the crowd doesn't give a shit about gear, and in some places they don't give a shit about flawless transitions and beatmatched tracks either.

BUT, we were talking about promoters and other DJs. Some of them do care about the way you spin. That's a fact you can't deny.

Some don't care, some enjoy watching a DJ spinning vinyl. I have seen some ending their sets because of a computer crash with no backup.

Best part of the thread is above

On a sidenote I didn't know there was an argument, I've only seen about 3 DJ's using plain ol' CDJ's or Vinyl in the past year. Big names or otherwise.
