    yep, PN makes a new file, then its up to you to decide if the new version sounds better or not. I used to use it all the time with low quality vinyl rips etc but tbh if your tunes of of decent quality its pointless. I would say use it for tunes 192 - 256 kbps, anything above wont make a difference.

    For mp3 gain, yeah use 94-96 and analyze your whole collection and use the track gain option.

    Well, i would use mp3gain regardless whether you have run the tunes thru PN or not. In your situation i would recommend using PN for only your tracks that are 256kbps or below ... leave the 320's be
    The way i do it is run everything through MiK, then mp3gain is the last step in the process before gridding etc. Have not used PN for about 2 years tbh.

    is it better to run tracks that are 256 or lower thru PN or mp3gain?

    PN is more for fixing clips and dynamics etc. Mp3Gain adjusts nothing but the volume.

    I vote none.

    Gain knobs made mp3gain pointless like a hundred years ago.

    As for PN…if you have problems with your tracks, buy better music.
