I think the 2000s and 1000s feel phenomenal and work better than any controller jogs but I remember thinking that they felt kind of weird/cheep when I first started using them then they really grew on me.

I think anything below a CDJ-850 feels pretty bad with the 850 being the lowest CDJ I would consider buying. I think all the smaller jog pioneers are pretty awful with the 400 being borderline passable and the all in one pioneer controllers being particularly horrific.

The denons feel okay for the price but I dislike the spinning platters since pitch bending is weird and isn't that accurate on them.

I've only ever used my own second hand CDJ's which are around 3 years old. I can understand what you mean by the feel of them, but I don't think cheap is the best word to use.

They are different, a feeling you need to adjust to. Pioneer are the leading manufacturer of cdj's, so they know how they should feel. Constant pro/community input is what creates their products.

If the general concensus was that they felt cheap, you'd see a major difference in the jog wheels in their newer units and would probably cost more than they do now.

Flimsy? Maybe the lower models. Cheap? I can't agree with.

How about we just say that they are plastic instead of cheap

I think we can all agree that the plastic components are plastic.

I've only ever played with CDJ-800s, and I was surprised how "rough" the jog wheel felt, made a lot of noise and didn't feel smooth at all

The 800 jogs are not very good at all. Big difference from the 1000 and 2000

    No they aren't.

The only thing like the 1000 MK3 is the 2000.

Don't worry, I think they feel cheap as well. Guess it's just a matter of opinion.
