    Default Netbook DJing

We got my brother a netbook for Xmas and I was thinking of letting him have my old BCD3000 as I don't use it any more so it's just gathering dust. Is there any DJing software that'll run on an Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz CPU? I have licences for Traktor 3 LE and Traktor LE for the BCD3000 but I'd rather hear from someone else who's tried running either of these on an N450 before faffing around with NI licensing if I'm going to end up having to uninstall the software and get NI to de-register the licences again.

    That's encouraging. I might give T3LE a shot then.

i have an EeePC with the exact same spec, I've installed Traktor 2 LE on it. run surprisingly fine.

I would suggest you to bump the RAM to 2gig though.

    2 gigs + Traktor3 = works perfectly, pro 1.2 does as well,

Sunno if I fancy running Traktor2 though.

I did the Video on the first edition pre-atom EEE.

I ran tp2 on my netbook once upon a time. it works ok for just 2 decks, though make sure the latency is set pretty high for glitch-free audio.

It would also help to use the DJTT optimization script: http://www.mediafire.com/?5qhj5ct77o3cgw8

Well I tried Traktor 3 LE, Traktor LE and Mixxx and none of them worked acceptably so I guess he'll have to wait until he gets a better computer.

Really? ... how was it without the BCD ? .. just wonder if thats the weak link.

Also what latency ? I think I had mine around 20ms on the EEE with T3 and 15ms on my Lenovo S10 + TP1.2 ..

The S10 would be almost identical specs to your bro's one except 3 years older. (and 2gigs ram).

I think the n450 is the weak link here. It gets a ridiculously low score on the Windows performance test. I used to get really low latency on my MacBook with the BCD3000 but on the netbook I wasn't even able to get it to perform well when the latency was set to the maximum of 43ms.

I have an old Pentium 4/1.5GHz desktop that I should be able to set up for him. That's well within spec for T3LE and just about within spec for TLE.
