Nice tracklist!!! - listening now, really don't get to hear enough Jungle anymore...I miss the freedom of the snare drum, a big change from the lockstep Drum and Bass that is so popular now...

whatwhaaa? I am no pro just a longtime drum and bass fan from 97, Also I followed you on soundcloud, How did you make that mix, was it cds or records or digital...some of those old jungle and dnb tunes just flat out don't cooperate for me in traktor...

Dude, it's a multitrack mashup made in Adobe Audition. I'd never be able to pull this shit off live. Hope you don't feel deceived, I'm always honest about this. I figure what matters most is how it makes people feel when they hear it, not the technique and method used to produce the sounds. Right?

DJs essentially just play other people's music no matter how technical they get with the eqs effects and loops (though scratching and juggles are a different deal in my opinion), it's not any sort of terrible deception, the end result is a fantastic mix...so how do you get the older jungle tracks to get into perfect time, is that a trick of the program or a preparation thing

Well, I spend a lot of time working with the waves - stretching, pitching, chopping and looping. I don't use any program tricks as synching, gridding or snapping. All manual, baby. For this mix right here I started out with a selection of 60-70 tunes that I felt like would fit in a jungle mix like this one and into the vibe I wanted to communicate. Then I spent a couple of days mixing, matching and testing different combinations. A lot of the tunes don't work at all, and some times they work so well that I make the tunes in to mashups on their own like I did this time with "Anticipate". Since I'm more of a mashup "artist" than a DJ, mixing harmonically is really important to me. I use a tiny piano-app on my phone to find the keys (I don't trust MIK), and tap out the BPM as I stretch tunes to fit. On rare occasions I transpose a tune a tiny bit in order to work, but never more than +/- 100 cents. Finally I spend a lot of time mastering, using multiband compressors, EQ and limiters to make the sound coherent. I've posted some screens in order to illustrate.
