    Default so, kinda short on USB ports...

    Is there a firewire to female usb adapter in existence?

    No, they aren't compatible with each other. Look into buying a USB hub, powered or non-powered. There's an article about it from years back here.

    Just jam the USB lead in there until it fits. Use a small hammer to reshape it if necessary.

    I'm pretty sure you need to lubricate the port with peanutbutter for that to work

    USB hub, powered preferably but it probably won't matter for a couple things unless you are attaching a hard drive or something.

    I had my DB4, 2 X1s, Audio 8, and Maschine plugged into my powered USB hub for like a month without the power cord to the hub plugged in and I didn't realize it or notice a difference when the hub was in unpowered mode, the LEDs were just a tiny bit dimmer.

    You are going to have to talk nicely to your computer if you are just going to jam a usb into the firewire. At least buy it a drink.

    Powered usb hub. There's a couple threads around about what hubs are good.
