Recording question in traktor

I have a Hercules RMX and I am connecting my amp through the outputs on the back. However I want to be able to record, so would it work if I used an RCA cable and connect it to my line in on my laptop? How would i set it up?

just a sidenote, if you're using traktor you can simply record internally, which is what I always do.

that's a great suggestion unless OP has an LE version of traktor.

Yeah I usually do this just wanted to see if this made any difference towards quality or w/e.

recording internally is obviously bit-perfect whereas external recording almost surely isn't.
