I'm stuck at a crossroads; S4 or VCI 400 Ean Golden Edition, which way do I go?

from the sounds of a recent Ean Golden post, it looks like he kinda got burned over the design/help he gave to NI. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the VCI-400 becomes the new defacto midi controller for DJTT. I'm not saying that Ean's gonna drop support for the S4 but Ean clearly has a better relationship with Vestax than he does with NI.

link to the post that makes you infer that? curious... for me, form factor is simply too small on the VCI. S4 is the absolute minimum I could go and still feel somewhat serious and not like playing on a little toy.

I was the primary designer on the s4. Some tweaks were made to the design after me (adding 2 extra channels) but you would be surprised how nearly all of the details came from my desk. Perhaps NI will finally come out some day and provide some proper credit.

hahaha. thats fairly to the point. Good on him, the blog part of the site has definetly become a little NIcentric since the S4 release.

You know people have been saying stuff like that from the beginning. Ean helped customize the controls on the S4, and he loves Traktor. Mapping capabilities with Traktor is unmatched and thats where this whole site derived from.

Seen as its normally quite a bit more for us to buy an "Ean Golden" version of things, especially when i have to think about shipping it over to the uk. Is there any word on if i standard one can be turned into one of these with a FW upgrade?
