yep I'm using 2 segate momentous xt's in my 17" mbp no problems yet, been using them for about 2 years now. Waiting for the price to drop on the newer 750Gb Momentous XT's so i can make it a bit faster and have 1.5tb

I have the new 750 and it's fantastic. It's in an Alienware M11x R3, so it can take full advantage of the SATA6.

You'll love the improvement in boot up time. Just remember that it will take a day or two for the Flash memory to cache your stuff mostly used. So it will get faster after the initial run.
    Cheers!

I'm going from SSD to this though, mainly because of storage, but sounds like it should be quick enough, seems a reasonable price for £155 for 750GB

It is loads faster than a 5400 rpm drive. It certainly won't be your SSD, but it seems as though you've already come to terms with that.

Honestly I don't know why these haven't caught on more. The performance is loads better in my opinion than platter storage alone, and it comes with the benefit of being significantly cheaper, and having a lot more space available than a complete solid state setup.
    Cheers!

Cool, Yeh I can accept it's not an SSD but the prices for bigger storage still hasn't come down so this seems like the next best thing, especially for the price!

    Cheers for the feedback
