Default Best warp setting for acapellas, ableton 8?

I'm trying to warp acapellas that are from hip hop tracks so they should be pretty stable. I'm having a hell of a time trying to get things warped and can't figure out what settings are best.

For example i'm trying to do 99 problem by Jay-z. What i've been doing is finding the 1, setting it to 1.1.1., then I have the master tempo at the correct bpm, and from what i've read i've right clicked and hit warp from here (straight). This seems to throw it way off.

    What am I doing wrong?

I figure this shouldn't be so hard considering that when I put the unwrapped acapella in Traktor the grid is pretty steady save for a few bad parts that i'm just trying to iron out. Plus it's a modern acapella.

Have you realised WHERE the "1" actually is? On 99 Problems, it's not on the:

I got the rat patrol, on the gat patrol

    It's actually on the:

I got the * rat patrol, on the gat patrol

ie - between the words "the" and "rat" (Actually, it might be on the - can't check right now. It's definitely NOT on the "I", though....)

The best thing to do when warping acapellas, is warp the compete tune first (including music), them warp the acapella to match the original track. Pretty easy to do in Arrange View.

    And use repitch.

Isnt that method dependent on the track lengths being the same?

You would match up when the vocals come in and go from there...the vocals should be identical even if the track is a little longer or shorter in the beginning/end.

Yes, but it's an easy fix for tracks that aren't the same length.

Here's a tutorial on the process:
