So I just made a mix today, all excited to upload it to soundcloud. I get it done, in the process of uploading it, and as soon as the transcoding was complete, I get redirected to a different page than usual.
It's a page that informs me that one of my tracks (the 1st track, Icarus by Madeon), is owned by a record label and my upload has been cancelled due to copyright laws. Really, you can say that about every single tune in all of my mixes. In other words, I can't upload any sets to soundcloud anymore, and this obviously applies to others as well.
Opinions on these new laws?
For me this is brutal, as my entire fanbase and listeners come from soundcloud. I've built basically everything upon soundcloud and now I cannot upload any more mixes. I understand where they are coming from for the producers' side of things, but as a DJ we are all pretty well fucked when it comes to using soundcloud...which blows big time.
