I remember that there is a very nice one at İKEA and you should check the Show of your setup section and there are some guys who are telling and giving out plans to build.

By the way ı use the amazon and the thomann.com.They have nice prices as well but ı have some stuff on ebay as well

    Good Luck

    Materials
    4-6 Bricks
    1 block of 1/2" plywood

    Instructions
Stack bricks according to desired height.
Place plywood on top of brick

In seriousness though cause I'm guessing bricks are too heavy to bring to the gig, one of those laptop tea trays.

Something like that - I have one ATM for home but no fan and no side panel for my APC and it works a treat.

Depends if you want to spend or not :-S

There's been a few indestructibles making crane-like stands for cheap cheap with copper or plastic pipe.

If it's just a party I'm sure there will be things lying around you can use to prop up....if not and it's in an actual venue you don't need to worry as there will be some sort of booth to play in...right?

Thick cardboard. Check Google, there are some cardboard laptoptop stands I've seen that are pretty solid if you put them together properly. I had made one for my launchpad, but I don't use it for anything other than production now, so I tossed it. They will only cost you the time to make it, and then at the end of your set you can light it all on fire lol.
