Default Looking for tips on practicing

    Hey DJTT,

I'm looking for some tips for practicing mixing. I've been mixing for about a year now but I want to step up my game. I am using traktor 2 pro with the NI S2. Most of what I will be mixing is house and moombahton with a little bit of dubstep. Any help is appreciated you can hear one of my mixes here http://soundcloud.com/philthypdubste...various-bass-3

    Thanks

There's no secret to practicing, just have to do it and keep at it and keep listening to other peoples mixes as well

Yes. Protip for practicing: Practice :-D
When we all make music, the God Spirit travels out of our bodies and we become one with each other. And for just a second, there is no war, greed, or hate in the world, just music, the celebration of life. (and usually a party, which is good too!)

Perfect practice makes perfect. Just make sure you're practicing correctly and not developing bad habits.

Look up what 'deliberate practice' means...

You want to practice the right things:

    - Record yourself, and listen back, did it sound good?
    - Work on your sets progression, just dont play any track at any time.
-Work on changing a set depending on a crowd (or a pretend one)

and ill say it again, record your sets... and listen back.

If you record yourself, and your mix sounds 100% perfect, listen to it again, and find the subtle things that can be worked on. DJing is an art, and artists will never be 100% happy with their creations. Find something to work on, and make it better.
