im in a similar situation...i want a "cdj" set up at home so i can be comfortable in a club without bringing my controller. i also want to be able to go to any club and have all my songs set up in rekordbox.

I'm still deciding, the 850's where my perfect choice for a while until I realised that they only have a 16bit sound card. Then I was pretty set on the 900's again, now I'm not so sure. I might just cheap out and buy a pair of 800 mk2's on the bay, I'm fairly sure I'll regret this though.

And that is a problem in what regard? CD-quality is only 16bit, 16bit is absolutely sufficient for DJ usage.

I just read up on it 16 bit is fine. Ok I'm pretty certain the 850's are the ones to go for.

I would definitely get a pair of 900's over 850's. Here is a comparison of the two http://www.djresource.eu/Topics/stor...parison-Chart/

(Keep in mind I don't spin with software) LINK feature, wide range pitch for mp3s, quantized loops, and slip mode.
