Default How to wire iPod to Audiofire 4 or Ext Mixer Needed?

    Hey yall!

Hate it when my Traktor Pro crashes in the middle of song causing euphoric dancing...

Wish I at least had a backup to keep the jams going while my laptop is restarting...

Is there a way to play music through my Audiofire 4 on my iPod while my computer is restarting? Or do I need to buy an external mixer?

I have a feeling I need an external mixer. So...

    PART 2 OF QUESITON, YALL!

What mixer should I buy so I can have my music/dj setup on one channel and a backup iPod audio source on a second channel? A salesman recommended this one:

Is that what I need? Is there something better for my hard earned money?

Need an external mixer for that, or another connection into the main board. If your lappy is off then the sound card won't be on then the sound won't go through.
    It's the FAQ. Read it.

    Thanks for the response.

    Would this work: http://www.peavey.com/products/brows.../PV(R)%206.cfm ?

Can you recommend an appropriate external mixer solution?

Let's say I want to do all of these things:
    1. Run 2 DJs simultaneously (ie DJing with a friend) OR Backup channel hooked up to an ipod

    2. Run a microphone (I have mic inputs for on my audiofire 4 but in the case that my traktor pro crashes and I need to restart I'd want to ability to still speak on the mic so I want that input on the external mixer)

    What do you think?

Yeah, that'll work as a backup. You can run a mic into it, as well as two DJs and an ipod. You should be fine

Great! I think I'll buy the Peavey mixer real soon. Thanks for everyone's help.
