definitely, just like the S4, or a host of other controllers. But he cant' say "or any controller like it", when he's just talking about ones with the ability to plug in for a slight output boost and maybe some brighter LEDS.... For example A mixtrack is fully USB-powered, and it's definitely a "product like it."

That's assuming it can function on just USB power, just with a lower output volume/LED brightness.... I'm going to laugh my ass off it can't.

The volume wouldn't be affected as we're talking line level output here, that's miliwatts of power. The LED brightness is a possibility, although really it's just a question of whether or not the port you're connected to can output enough amps. I can draw 1.5-2A from the ports on my PC, and at least an amp from the ports on my MacBook Pro. ALL of those are enough to drive the Studio 4A at its rated input, allowing for voltage conversion from 12 to 5V.

If I was to buy a Studio 4A, the first thing I'd most likely do was open it up and see if I could bypass the 12-5V conversion circuit and drive it directly from USB.

Saying that, I won't be buying a Studio 4A as I've got my Reloops. I WILL be getting an MM-1, two DC-1s and two LC-1s

I would also would pass on the Studio 4A as I've got Denon last month. Good thing for me as having a separate power source is not ideal on all situations.

But DC-1 is quite tempting to use in Traktor's Remix Deck. So this or the LC-1 would be on my list.

It doesn't support them. Best you can do is a hack that apparently doesn't work well.

Yet. We're talking a matter of months here before NI open up the Remix Decks to other controllers; they specifically said it would be a 2.x release, not a 3.x one.

I'm sure it's in the same update with the CDJ-850 HID support...

We hope... There have been two large patches since 2.5. They're not happy yet with the amount of extra F1's they've sold by locking down their system.
