    It's nice to see more and more people switching to real turntables and learning the actual craft of being a DJ rather than just pressing buttons (and syncing).

    To the OP, much has been answered to your questions and I say go for it. Being versatile and ready at whatever situation is always the best rather than just scratching your head when you're faced with a gear you don't know how to use properly.
