I still think calling these older (20+ years) tracks "Electro" is something that is a recent thing.
I remember when "Egypt, Egypt" came out. At the time some in the Los Angeles area where calling it "Techno-Hop".
At the time I just thought of it as "Electronic Hip-Hop". And some kids at a couple the local High Schools were even calling it "Black New Wave".
But since we're crate digging:

Maybe in the US but over here it was deffo called electro - probably due to the Street Sounds series...
