Resolution is the only thing I care about. My 14" T61P w/ a 1680 x 1050 pixels is great and will show all the same details that a 17" model with the same resolution will.

I can't stand the lack of room on Traktor with anything smaller than 1050 horizontal pixels. I regularly used a 17" laptop for a while, and I'll be honest - go with the 15" machine with a good screen.

Personally I use a 13 Macbook 1280 x 800 ... lil too small IMHO for Traktor2 if you have sample decks/4decks and want to see the playlist .. but you can always assign a midi command to the browser view.

1440 x 900 thats on the macbook air and 15' macbook pro, would be much better IMHO for me.
I don't mind my mbp 13" just perfect.

to sum it up im happy with the 13'' and would recommend over the 15'' or 17''.
Im using 13" MBP with traktor s2 aswel. I enjoy it.

I find my 14" with 1368x768 is not ideal. If I don't have the sample decks up it's not to bad. If the sample decks are up it's just to hard to see the playlist.

Any 1000+ lines screen is good. The physical size depends on the health of your eyes really. If they're good, you're gonna love a 15", if not you'll need a 17". Only go 17" if you really need it, imo.

have a 17... wanting to trade it for a 15. 17 is nice but its a bulky beast, 15 with the upgraded screen is the happy medium. and the spec bump really isnt all that between the 2. Go for the 15.

I use a 17" lappy and love it. But it weighs a TON! And getting a decent bag for it was a nightmare...

Think about it this way...im running an Alienware M11x R2 with an 11inch screen and i can perfectly dj with 4 decks on Traktor pro 2...Doesnt feel cramped

Only problem is i have to go into Browser mod to select a song...but other than that an 11inch screen is fine for me, so 15 should be no problem for you

I appreciate the 1650x1050 res of my 15" MBP. I have a 1920x1280 external monitor to plug it into when I'm at home.
