Default usign a USB mixer instead of a DJ sound card?

Is this a good idea? I'd love to the have the flexibility of a mixer but still have good quality audio out. Was thinking something like this: http://www.zzounds.com/item--ALEMULTIMIX8USB

You'd be better off getting a soundcard and mixing externally
    It's the FAQ. Read it.

I could be wrong, but I think mixers like that only have 1 input and 1 output for recording/master. The closes sound card I would use to that is the Novation NIO even though it's not a true mixer, but does have enough ins and outs.

waiiit a sec.. you're going to outboard your music through an 8 channel mixer? essentially this mixing desk is a souncard with 8 channels and EQs.. I'd probably recommend you scrap that idea (no hard feelings meant..) and just get (as J-Reign suggests) a soundcard with volume/gain control. If you're ever thinking about playing out in a venue, you're gna regret trapsing around with an 8 channel mixer... unless you feel like getting creative - then you might as well takes some synths down, and perhaps some bongos, and you have yourself a nice little one man live set going!

If I had a skills, (or the gear.. and a van) I'd probably do that. Seriously though, go simple (its better if it fits into a rucksack of course). I know this is for Torq, but check this one out: http://www.htfr.com/more-info/MR241896

It works really well with traktor, and you've 2 huge dials on the front. A mate of mine picked one up for pennies to go with Ableton, and I've often borrowed it off him when my audio 8 isnt handy - does the job really well.

    Peace
