Warning: plea for support follows....

For those who don't know, Sensational is a New York hip-hop artist who worked with the Jungle Brothers in the 1980s before going solo. He is an underground hip-hop legend who did some particularly innovative and experimental things with technology at the time -- making beats from found sounds and portable tape recorders for example -- and is responsible for some of the trippier hip-hop instrumentals around. He also spiraled into drug abuse and homelessness and has a tragic but fascinating life story.

My friend E.A. Moore followed him around with a camera for five years, and the resulting documentary, "The Rise and Fall and Rise of Sensational," has been shown at festivals; you can watch a trailer and read more about the film here: http://sensationalfilm.com/about/

Moore has started a kickstarter campaign to try to raise money to clear the samples in the film so that she can distribute the film more widely; if there's any way you can support this worthy project, please check out the kickstarter page here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...of-sensational

And if you know of any hip-hop discussion forums where this sort of thing would be appropriate, please feel free to repost, or let me know and I'll pass the word along. Thanks!
