    Default Connecting mixer to laptop

    Hey,
so last night I had a party (finished primary school) and ofc we had a DJ.At the end of the night I asked my friends about his djing and they said that he was awsome but he used automix in virtual dj.

Before that night i wanted for my first controller to be Numark MIixtrack Pro.But in my city DJ is a guy wich has mixer or controller and plays music all night(So if i bring my amp and just turn some knobs and press butons I would be a DJ bcs people dont know what am I doing)

Now i want some mixer wich have effects and i looked in my local shop and i saw Behringer DJX900USB but my dillema is can i use it with just my laptop and softwear(Traktor or Virtual DJ doesnt matter).I looked at some videos on YT and for some mixer you will need sound card, but if I buy that mixer i wouldnt have money for sound card.

You would need a sound card to use that mixer.

    Thanks for quick reply.

    1st solution:

If I am going to dj in traktor pro 2 (with Behringer DJX900USB) do i need to have NI Audio 2 or i can use Numark STEREO|iO(cheaper solution). Also do I need soundcard for Behringer DJX750 and can i use it with Numark soundcard(if needed)?

    2nd solution:

I have got one more question. I was also thinking about buying mixer (Numark M101) and buying NI X1. Do i need sound card for that or I can connect X1 to my mixer and my mixer to my laptop?

Stay away from the 101. Its got a 2 band EQ, so bass and treble. No mids. Its pretty cheap. You will need a soundcard unless you buy a mixer with a soundcard in it (ex. Rane 68) that seems to be well above your budget though.
What software do you prefer to use?

Edit: I'm bored off my teeth right now and hanging around this wonderful place, so I can help you out.

Um if your budget is $320 a mixer to start out on would be the m audio x sessions pro it's a USB mixer so just plug and play but if you wanted to connect the mixer to speakers you would need a sound card.

Well... you don't NEED a two channel sound card... You just would only be able to use a single channel on your mixer.

If you don't have 2 separate channels you won't be able to mix with the mixer :P
