I don't know if I would want to be rocking on a club installed laptop. What happens when a torrenting DJ opens a track with a virus, and starts off the next 4 months of computer crashes mid-set.

offc all torrent dls include a virus in the mp3s. still, I agree.
cool idea though, but noone would like to use club laptop. If traktor was a fast-booting linux OS (remember those times?) then it might gain some traction.
They really should've added another usb port to A10.
Many photons have died to bring you this information.

An MP3 is just audio. Compressed audio. By playing the audio, in no way at all can you infect a computer with a virus.

Of course that involves beatmatching by ear when you transition from the CD to your laptop, but all DJs know how to do that .. right?

I've heard an MBP with an SSD drive can boot up in about 8 seconds.

There's nothing really stopping you from doing this as it is. But for some reason, laptops are the only piece of hardware DJs are afraid to leave in the booth or share, so nobody actually does it.

You all make perfectly valid points. Like I said, it was just a thought :3. Another easy way for hooking ip could be via the inclusion of and extra 2 inputs on mixers. With just a volume knob and cue button. Allowing for digital DJs to transition seamlessly either from somebody rocking cdjs or digital themselves or like mentioned before, just mix into using cd then set up your laptop ;D

Am i the only one who doesn't understand how this has anything to do with NI? As it stands it IS possible to load mp3's and your tsi file to a USB and then you could import the mp3's to the "club installed PC" and load your new tsi file with Traktor loaded! What the OP asks for, NI already give us the capability to do!

It's the heart of your setup, personally I'm not trusting this side to anyone but myself.
