What's missing from NI controllers?

They need traktor built in or some kind of software like the CDJ 2000 Nexus has. Imagine having an S4 or something with some screens popping up with the waveform, info of the track and everything on it and all you had to do was load a USB stick into it. Would be insanely revolutionary for controllers.

You're describing an all-in-one media player. There's quite a few on the market already.

The general consensus is that it's better to keep the players and the mixer section separate. Then you've just got usb compatible CDJs + a club mixer, the industry standard setup.

I would love to see a large, all-in-one controller like the S4, except with a primary focus on controllerism. Basically replace the big jog wheels with Maschine's pads...
