Default Looking for the best laptop computer for DJing (PC vs MAC)

Hello there, im planning to buy a new laptop because my old one produces too much sound drop outs and cracks from time to time.

Im now running: Traktor Scratch Pro 2

I want to run: TSP2+ Maschine Software + Browser with clean internet connection

So, what's the best laptop in your opinion? I am not focused on buying a mac, but there must probably be a good reason why so much DJ's use them?!

I am planning to invest about 1000-1500 €, maybe a little bit more if its really worth the extra money. And i think that i would prefer a 15 inch model because that is a good mix between visibility and mobility.

So guys, i would like to hear what you got, what you would recommend, and if you have any ideas if a mac would be my weapon of choice, or if a windows PC does the same, or even better (better specs for less money).

Thanks a lot, greetings from germany

If you know about Basic computer maintenance, are able to optimize or willing to spend the time learning and doing it a PC will handle anything you throw at it.

If your time/patience/out of the box stability/resale value and being able to visit porn sites without your computer coming to a crawl is worth more than that, get a Mac.

Just for the record there is a known USB issue with the current new generation USB 3 Ports on Mac's which requires a driver hack to get working with NI sound cards until they update a driver or Mountain Lion gives us Dual function USB2/3 based on devices.

*Yes you get better Specs from a Similar price PC, but Buying a PC and not knowing how to optimize it is like buying a ferarri and putting a granny behind the wheel.

Now I'll kindly step aside and wait for the thread to be closed by a mod

I think this song pretty much sums up how this thread will end

Apple have invested more in audio technology than microsoft, both will do the job just depends if ur ok paying a premium for an apple device.

go with what you want, its not wat u use its how u play

Yeah, i saw some other threads over at NI customer forums going to nothing useful, but i thought DJTT Forum Users would focus on the tech side of this discussion.

Maybe we focus on the facts why MAC's are better, if its not just the "ready out of the box thing"

is there any thread in here where this had been discussed? i didnt't found something like this

There have been plenty of threads on this topic. It's right up there with "Why do you use the Nsync-button? The (Beat-)Matchstreet Boys are so much better", "Do you have to hate my idol? Skrillex is like unicorns and kittens combined!!1!" or "I can't Guetta no satisfaction"

Maybe you should just learn how to use the search function (pro-tip: if the board search doesn't work, use google and format your query like this "YOUR KEY WORDS site:djtechtools.com/forum")

Well, should I respond to this? Probably not. But it's very hard not to. VERY hard.
