Default Bit of a Rave/Jam in a Field!

Myself and a few lads have got permission to use some land to host a Rave/Jam.

Have most of the odds and ends sorted out.

    One problem though.

We have a marquee to have the main event/dance area in but the ground is a lil lumpy and could get muddy real fast with everyone dancing. Plus we dont want anyone to get hurt.

So I thought I will get some pallets from work to create a floor and that would be grand, but the wood is pretty weak and could snap.

Anyone have any Ideas to an alternative?

    On the cheap ofcourse :P

    Thanks

I dont think there is any cheap way to really fix that problem except letting people know in advance it might get muddy. I could be wrong though

just use a large tarp and pin it into the ground or hay either way would be fine.

If you can't get straw, try a local timber yard - they will probably let you bag up loads of sawdust for free which should work.

fine sawdust no good it just bogs up with the mud, makes it thicker an claggy. Bags of shavings may do the trick but here they're £4.50 a bale, like a big bag. Living on a farm i'd go with the straw myself, just make sure u have a lot of it. Hay can be a bit dusty

+1 on the straw, you could also use bales around the dance area to keep everything penned in.
