    Don't move the cross-fader by mistake -- I think I hear sudden drops in mixes now and then related to this mistake, hand nudging or something similar.

    I've got my crossfader disengaged unless I want to do quick cuts while mixing breaks. I primarily use the line faders and eq.

    My crossfader is disengaged as well. Apart from line faders and eq I use filters a lot. Loops, quick cuts and FX transitions are rarely used.

    Still wondering why this is located in the production area now though
    The NI trio - Traktor Kontrol S4 - Maschine - Komplete - and some more gear...

    i mix 4 decks, eq, line faders, echo-freeze fx, crossfader disengaged.

    This. As far as when to mix, I play good songs that I think deserve to be heard mostly all the way through.
