Aktive = is "active" in Denmark, where i live. Sorry for the confusion!

Sobi do you really think he can afford a crown or LAB amp? when he buys the cheapest speakers he could find?

Thats why i am recommending the Behringer Inuke because of the prize and what you get for your money

Just throwing it out there. It is better to have a higher watt amp and not turn it up as much than have a lower wattage amp and blast it. You will get less distortion that way. Just measure how far u can push it with a multi meter and osiliscope if u have one.
I would recommend the inuke as well at that price range. I usedto use on bridged for my dual hcca-12 subs before I got my crown.

apologies. Arogant and ignorant american side of me. As for the amp though, regardless of affordability, there is much better stuff out there. Buy once, cry once.

    get one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Behringer-NU30.../dp/B005EHINAS

it will give you 440 WATTS into 8 OHMS (STEREO).

Make sure to get the DSP version. It will help you tweak your "cheap" speakers to sound better.

The DSP version comes with digital signal processor software that easily let's you tweak the sound and settings of the amplifier.

Just tell him what amp to buy. I've found that if you give people the right information and they're still confused, just do it for them.

Okay thanks for all the advice guys, just took the easier route and refunded the speakers, can anyone advise any budget active speakers around (£150~ or less, spent too much on cdjs/mixer), guess I'll be sticking with skytec for that price range...

I run a pair of 15" and 12" skytec speakers. they arnt bad, they by no means compare to makies or JBLs. But they are not bad.

Did you just use BFM and professional together?

DJ Forums has a few knowledgable members, unfortunately there are a lot of people who think owning a set of k12s makes you a pro. Here's a forum populated by people who actually make a living in the industry: http://forums.prosoundweb.com
I hear an 8hz sinewave can make a whole room of dubstep producers simultaneously stroke their beards.

Even if they havnt got one.

No, but I used them in the same sentence. I'm just saying that he has engineered a box/speaker system that is widely regarded as an option that can rival some of the higher end of Mid level gear... on a low end budget.

And it's still a step up from this place as far as a knowledge base for pro audio goes. I'll be sure to check out that forum though, so thanks.
