NI Maschine or Akai MPD32 for Ableton

Not sure if there is another post on this but I couldn't see one.

What are people experiences with either unit as an Ableton Midi controller ?

Maschine can be used as vst or even standalone with maschine software but more I'm more interested in how it plays as a midi controller for Ableton ? Are there any advantages using mpd32 ?

Maschine has some issues with losing connectivity randomly in MIDI mode (there are a few lengthy threads in NI's forum) that will be hopefully fixed in a future update. In my experience, keeping the Controller Editor open prevents this from happening.

The main benefit I see is Maschine's screens will give you better feedback of what you are doing but MPD's faders are handy.

I have an MPD 26 which has a 2 less faders and knobs then the mpd 32. I love it. Its great to be able to finger drum in parts and actually feel the rhythm. The setup is ridiculously easy and comes premapped for ableton and other DAW's out of the box. I have a preference for pre loading empty clips, setting record quanitization to 16ths and just hammering out loads of great midi lines+ LAUNCHPAD. This would not be a bad way to go. I cant comment about the maschine however. It does get lots of love however. There is a bout a $200.00 difference however.
