I've seen alot of people use their Maschine to remix songs by assigning sampled loops/one shots to pads. How do I do that? I've been running my Maschine through deck C live input through my S4 for the last couple of shows and think it would be fun to actually remix a song instead of using step sequencer. Any help appreciated.

I'm not by the unit to test, but I am pretty sure while you're in 'control mode' you hit 'record'.
