M-Audio Evolution UC-33 + Traktor Scratch Pro
Hi guys,
i'm still considering my options for a TSP controller.
anyone around here has played out in a club using the UC-33 and TSP? some feedback would be really appreciated.
thanks!

As you may already know the UC33 is more of an Albeton controller.
IF you only want to use traktor I think you should buy something else.
-
true enough. but i still think i can map something out......
in any case, if i were to purchase just the Xone 1D, and use that together with a Pioneer DJM600, i'd have four deck control yes?
-
Yes you should be able ton control 4 decks.
So i suppose you have TSP with 2xTT + DJM600 mixer.
Actually you can map an UC33 like a 1D. But I would miss cue points...
-
so i've got my UC33, TSP and Audio 8.
now i cant figure out how to hook up to the mixer in a club.
1) UC33 USB to Macbook
2) Audio 8 USB to Macbook
3) and then....?
UC33 MIDI to Audio 8? Audio 8 to club mixer? how?
sorry guys i'm just in over my head. hope someone around here can help.

I used to play on the UC-33e and Traktor 3 and it was pretty cool as soon as you get used to the small buttons. So I don't see any problems using it with TPro.
After you plug in both UC-33 and Audio 8 if you use Traktor's internal mixer, than you just map the mixer controls to UC-33 and then set Output routing for Audio 8 in Traktor's preferences.
Hope that helps.

Wait wait, you're using TSP with time code at the club, or just the audio8?
-
no time codes. i can do everything on my UC33, and the audio 8 acts as a sound interface. thats all.
i figure i need to set Ch. A on the Audio 8 as the master output and then hook it up to any channel on the club mixer. that right?

i've had my UC-33e for 4 years and it still works as great as it did the first day i got it (except a burnt out led on one of the faders from coffee spillage oops). Couldn't recommend it more!
If you're going to use the UC-33e for Traktor you should use it in conjunction with another midi controller (keyboard, pad control etc) because although it has an adequate amount of knob/fader controls, the buttons are very akward and imo not particularly useful for traktor. You gotta have good buttons to hit to have a proper grip on things like Cue, Play/Pause, Loop In/Out controls etc. I run Traktor with my UC-33e and an Oxygen8 and it's a nice combo that covers all the control i need.
