Default Mixing with DVS - Tips and Tricks?

So i'm fairly new to the DVS game, been DJ'ing for a few years now though.

Thought it would be fun to start a little tips and tricks thread for those of us using control vinyl.

My current setup is Technics 1210 mk2 x2, Denon X1600, and Traktor Scratch Pro.

I'm mostly a mix DJ, I'm slowly learning to scratch but it's more of a fun thing and not really a priority for me. That being said, what sort of tips and tricks do you guys like to use or have for me for mixing? It can be literally anything from beatmatching, to... well, whatever!

Learning to scratch helps a lot if you're short of transitions and you're tired of just doing blends, gives your set some "flavor". With a DVS, I try to minimize my use of effects to maybe a low pass/high pass ready to use and a beatmasher (just because it sounds cool ). I honestly would try and learn things like trick mixing (doubles, etc) and maybe even basic beat juggling as it makes DJing (in my opinion) a whole lote more fun. Look at DJs like A-Trak as he's an electro/mix DJ who uses turntablist tricks and techniques to rock out.
