    Default Ableton 9 Officially announced

Its finally real. Some new cool features in the midi realm for sampling and editing.

I think there are a few new things that look nice.

I'm glad they finally added curved automation, and curious about the midi stuff. I still don't like the look of arrangement view as it is still very messy visually with just the bar on the top instead of having some separation around the expanded view and hoped they might fix that to be more like just about every other DAW that does it better and has a more clear arrangement view.

The sounds to midi stuff sounds cool and will replace some of what melodyne does.

Push seems really cool in concept, not sure about in actual practice yet and depends on price. Though good to see something actually new and innovative for music production controllers that could be of actual use for making music (unlike the apc40 which has little use outside of a live setup).

overall I'm pretty satisfied and happy with the changes and would consider getting live 9 suite and push. Except for multi monitor support and some UI stuff it looks pretty good and enough to not bother waiting around for bitwig.

Live 9 looks promising, and Push looks really interesting, like Ableton tried to make a Maschine+Launchpad-esque controller.

Will there be an upgrade price for users coming from Live 8. I'm assuming this will not be a free upgrade.

EDIT: Disregard... I found the upgrade pricing structure.

Oh my god, that may be the sexiest thing I have ever seen. It *needs* to be made to work with bitwig.

edit: Oh my god they are pressure and velocity sensitive!

Good luck with that? Bitwig is going to have a scripting system for midi controllers so there will be zero problem getting it to work, just need someone to put the legwork in.

That's ridiculous, as if no other company but Apple is doing things that are ethical inappropriate...
