Id say any, but you ask for one specifically so I'll say sub boom bass by rob papen. I haven't used it but I've heard good things.

Default bass synth, bass vst, plug in, papen, sub boom bass

I own SUB BOOM BASS and it is a fantastic low end synth. Its priced right also here in the states at $119.00. Wait for a guitar center coupon and get it for even less. A lot of times people sell their used vst's on kvraudio.com or in the for sale section so you can pick up a used bass soft synth for a lot less. subboombassBIG.jpg

I think SBB has a ton of inspiring sounds for many many many dance genres, a huge dub step section, house, trance, hip hop, trip hop, downtempo breaks, you name it. I think I read in computer music that SBB was a smaller version of Predator by Papen but its alos about $50 more than SBB.

Minimonsta, hands down. Such a good all around synth, and obviously excels at basslines as it's of the Moog lineage.

With that being said, Rob Papens SBB is also an excellent choice. Can't really go wrong with that one I'd say

    Massive or Minimonsta.

The only 2 I use for making a bass. Both sound really great.

Most tech house bass is just down pitched toms, the 808 and 909 are a good place to start. Seriously there is no need to buy huge plug ins.

I think he meant samples of 808/909 toms. And those are certainly omnipresent

For what its worth i pitched down some tom samples in Kong (reason) and built some drum tracks. I really appreciate the production advice as I love the results for the tech house bass. Now I am going to import the audio into ABleton and see what Papens SBB can do for a bass line.
