Default Dump Traktor n go straight to Pioneer?

    Hey guys,

I was thinking seriously about dropping Traktor all together and selling my S4 / midifighter and just using CDJ's / DJM to spin with. I currently have 2 CDJ 850's, but a shitty numark mixer so if I sell the S4 + MF and put together some cash I could pick up a DJM 900 Nexus. I really like Traktor but I feel like if I get rid of it all together it'll be pushing my comfort zone and boundaries and ultimately lead to me becoming a better DJ by forcing myself to try different things.

I guess i'm looking for some validation on my thought process. Thoughts?

    Thanks!

Personally, i'm not much of a laptop dj, so I would say get some CDJs AND some 1210s .

Have you or do you use CDJ's? If not I would try before you swap anything

    But that's just me.

Might not be a bad idea. Personally, if I am playing where there is Rekordbox compatible gear, I just use USB sticks. If not, its timecode vinyl or CDs / Traktor laptop / X1. At home I have 1200s and a 909, but if I could afford it, I'd have a 900 and new CDJs. Probably wouldn't get rid of my current setup though.

Try it first before selling else you might regret it.

Try spinning with what you have before committing

I would do it if I had the money for a 2 cdj + djm. by the look of your Current Studio link you have a macbook pro so you could get Rekord Buddy from the app store and convert your whole Traktor liberary with cue point to Rekordbox also a setup of 2 CDJ 850 + DJM 900 Nexus you can still use Traktor althoug the 850 are not HID yet. you would get the (best) of bouth worlds. and later on you could add the RMX1000 to your setup.
DJ setup 1 - Pioneer XDJ-Aero, Pioneer DDJ-SP1, Mixvibes Cross, Macbook Air 13", Pioneer HDJ 2000. DJ setup 2 - NI Kontrol F1, Z1, X1mkII, Traktor Pro2, Macbook Air 13", Pioneer HDJ 2000 w. Production - iMac 21.5", Motu 828x, Icon Qcon Pro + EX, Nektar Panorama P4, Propellerhead Reason, Mashine Mikro(drum programer in Reason)

Honestly, it'd probably end up leading you to get more gigs as well. Just saying.

I'd move away from controllers if I had the cash...

I already use an A6 just to play out with at some places, just a controller at home because I can't afford anything decent.

Do it. Keep the software or buy Traktor.
