    Default Recovering Stolen Macbook [Just In Case]

    Was thinking about it earlier what if someone stole my macbook how devastated I would be..yes I have my music and stuff backed up thats not the problem the computer itself is still valuable

    any programs or other ways of recovering your macbook after it has been stolen?

    Other than using "Find My Mac" in Mountain Lion, Prey is best program you can use.

    - Gives you the IP address where it being used
    - Takes a pic using the built-in cam
    - Shows you screenshots of what the person on your Mac is doing (If they happen to use Facebook, you can grab the name of the person along with their friends' names)

    thanks you think its worth upgrading to mountain lion for that or am I beter off using Prey?

    If you haven't upgraded, then I would use Prey.
