Ah. Corrected my post. Is it still true that some controls can't be shift-mapped as my first link describes?

You cannot use the HID mapping shift to do anything. You can map your own shift on the same button (in addition to, or instead of the HID shift function) and use it to map what ever you want.

TP 2.6 changed how you can map on top of the stock HID mapping.
